Kira complements Portege, Qosmio lines and Satellite. Its body is thin and light. The casing is made of magnesium alloy. Magnesium alloy is said to be stronger and lighter than that of aluminum. Its display has a resolution of 2,560x1,440-pixel. This is an example of ultrabook for 2013. The backlit keyboard of Toshiba Kirabook is basically in accordance to the Toshiba model.

 

Design

The front edge is slightly tapered. It has a brushed-metal look in the lid, an edge-to-edge glass placed over the display and a large button-free click pad which can be found under the island-style keyboard. This product comes good in photo and even more in actual. Since the body is made of magnesium-alloy, the product is very light. The finish and fit are superb too. It has a clean keyboard tray. Pros

This offering from Toshiba is said to be ambitious for it aims to be in parallel with the MacBook Pro of Apple which comes with Retina Display. With such, the price is also a match. It is a useful, functional and solid laptop from Toshiba. This is another premium product from Toshiba. The laptop is made of magnesium alloy which is basically stronger and lighter than that of aluminum. As for the touch pad and keyboard, this model is way better than any other found on the different Toshiba Satellite laptops. This is Pixel Pure which makes is similar to the Retina Display of Apple. This relies on the HD 4000 graphics which is the default of Intel. This resolution makes is it easier to read plain text and even more convenient to work on different applications like Photoshop.

 

Cons

Despite its effort to come close with Apple’s MacBook Pro, the price is just too high. It should have been more exciting. Taking a look on its graphics, it is only good for text reading and application running. As for games, there is a slight slip for the laptop uses the default HD 4000 graphics of Intel.
