Sony Xperia U was the most favorite phone when it launched last year. The thin, solid and highly dense design made it famous and more comfortable to use. Aside from that you can customize the look of the phone by swapping the rear cap with different colors you like depending on your mood.

 

Design

The design is specifically made to be unique from the usual form of regular mobile phones. Compared to the other Xperia versions, Xperia U is created smaller and lighter compared to the other 2. Sony Xperia U has a plastic strip beneath the Home keys that works as a backlight and would actually change into different colors which makes it more interesting to bring. These can be matched to either the theme, your cover photo on the screen or the album cover of your music.

 

That’s how unique it is from the other 2 smart phones created by Sony. The cap at the rear can be changed depending on what color you prefer. It has black, white, pink and yellow caps that you can interchange. The physical buttons can be found at the right side which is the Power, Volume and Camera buttons. A socket for the headset can be found on top while the USB port is on the left side.

Pros

Sony Xperia U has great specifications which would match its affordable price. It has 2 seconds sleep-to-snap camera mode which would enable the user to take series of pictures easily. Another great advantage when buying this phone is its call quality. You can clearly hear the voice of the person you are talking to. The strong and comprehensible loudspeakers make listening to music outstanding. The transparent strip lights up and bring in a variety of colors that are very eye-catching. This feature makes the phone more interesting.

 

Cons

One of the downsides of Sony Xperia U is the video quality. It is not designed for Full HD experience. You can’t also expand your memory storage as there is no microSD slot available. The coating is not oleophobic which does not really give you an elegant looking phone.

 

Warranty

Like most other Sony phones, Sony Xperia U has 1 year warranty for the unit and the accessories. Warranty starts upon the date it was purchased. For the user to claim the warranty, a proof of purchase should be presented. The proof of purchase should contain the serial number and the date it was purchased. Make sure that when you claim the warranty; make sure the damage was not because of carelessness, natural wear and tear of the product or due to natural calamities. If these are the reason, the warranty is cancelled so the user will have to pay for the replacement or repair of the unit.

 

Conclusion

With the era of bigger screens, Sony Xperia U feels small. However, the resolution is highly appreciated which is highly commendable to those who wants clearer and sharper images and texts.  The vibrant colors make this phone interesting. So if you are looking to buy smaller screens, then this should fit you more.
