Pre-infected New Computer Malware – What to Do!

Believe it or not, there are many new computers that get infected with malware even before they get to the stores. So many people have experienced this and the origin of this malware is often said to be from the manufacturer. It is hard to know how this happens because it is obvious that a manufacturer will not do it.

However, there are people that are usually paid to spread malware to as many computers as possible and they might gain access to these computers right after manufacture. Therefore the computers are likely to have the malware by the time they get to consumers who normally and unknowingly start using them right away with no clue of the pre-malware infestation.

Most of these people that are used to spread malware to computers are usually well paid and they easily infect computers from the manufacturing point in order to infect more at once and also because it is more subtle since they will not have to pass through the security safeguards that many computer owners use. It is therefore not a new thing and computer manufacturers are working on this problem every day in order to stop this kind of thing, though it is not easy.

What To Do

Before computer manufacturers can arrive at a more permanent and reliable solution, here’s what you can do to fight against pre-infected new computer malware.

  1. Once you notice that your brand new computer has malware infection, do not connect it to the Internet. Doing this may update the malware and its effect on your computer may get stronger aggravating the problem. Also, there could be more malware coming through and it could download the malware as soon as you connect the computer to an Internet source. That is why it is good to avoid this.

  2. The other thing to do is to use another computer and get a second opinion scanner, and then use it on the infected computer so that it can clear out the infected malware. What to do here is to save the scanner on a CD or removable disk then you can connect it to the infected computer for scanning. You will be able to scan the computer without connecting it to any network.

  3. If after this you still notice that your computer has malware, you could remove its hard drive, then connect it to another computer that has a good and up to date antivirus program so that it can be scanned for malware. This could help and more often than not you will be free of the malware.

  4. It is good to notify the manufacturer so that he can do an investigation of the matter and other sellers will not have to go through the same inconvenience. Some people will not care to check out if their computers are pre-infected and they will proceed to use them causing a major problem for them later on.

  5. It is important to always scan your computer on a regular basis so that no malware will find its way to it. Be sure to check out all avenues that could lead you to a malware attack because this could make it hard for you to use your computer as you should.

  6.

We may not avoid such a thing from happening but we can prevent the malware from working against our computers. You must do your part in case this happens to you so you can have and enjoy a malware free computer.
