NOKIA LUMIA 800

The touchscreen technology is common among almost all smartphones nowadays. If you loved phones from the Nokia’s Lumia series because of its smooth surface and highly capacitive screen builds, you may also love the Lumia 800.

Design

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a stylish looking handset that belongs to the list of fashionable phones with its seamlessly-styled body with a 116.5 mm height, 61.2 mm width and a thickness of 12.1 mm. Plus, it only weighs 142 g. The Nokia Lumia 800 shares a design with the Nokia N9. It has a 3.7-inch 16M-color AMOLED capacitive screen. Units are available in a variety of colors like black, cyan and magenta. Although the material used for the body is plastic, it has that sturdy, premium feel. Also, take note that the plastic casing helps in phone reception.

The front face of the phone is completely covered in gorilla glass with three Windows Phone touch buttons placed at the bottom. The top edge houses the SIM card slot and the micro USB port for charging and syncing.

  • 1.4 GHz Scorpion CPU

Pros

The AMOLED screen in phones from the Lumia series gives you enough bragging rights that can par with screens from the Apple and Samsung models. It has a great social media integration that lets you keep yourself updated with friends’ updates, posts and tweets and allow you to connect with them flawlessly. The Nokia Lumia 800 also has free music streaming with Nokia’s Mix Radio.

If you have a thing for social media networking, the Lumia 800 is good news for you. The operating system fully integrates and supports social media networking. The People Hub does not only sync with phone contacts, but also with Facebook feeds, Twitter and Linked-in updates as well.

Cons

Although it shares similarities to the Nokia N9, the Lumia 800’s screen is much dimmer. It does not have a USB mass storage that lets you manage your files on a computer. File management on the Lumia 800 is possible only through Zune. Unlike other Lumia releases, it does not support video calls and does not have front-facing camera. And like the Nokia 925, it does not have a card slot and does not have a replaceable battery.

Conclusion

With limited storage capacity, you may not be able to totally enjoy keeping a lot of things in your internal storage. The 8 MP camera with the LED flash is really great for people who likes taking pictures a lot. If you are fine with a phone with a non-removable battery like the iPhone 4s and rely greatly on the default internal memory, you’ll totally be all good with the Nokia Lumia 800. This phone’s great for multitasking with all that sleek features worth bragging about.
