With Nokia Lumia series, the Nokia Lumia 520 is the cheapest yet the quality of the unit is still high. For an affordable smartphone, Lumia 520 has Windows 8 operating system.

 

Design

It is created to have the same design as the other Lumia series. It has curve sides with a flat face that is scratch free. As this phone is less pricey than its other sisters, the glass it not made of Corning Gorilla. Compared to the Lumia 720, the cover of the unit is removable so you can change the battery and easily access the SIM and microSD memory card.

 

There are a variety of colors you can choose from when it comes to changing the back of the unit like black, red, white, blue and red. So you do not have to buy a new phone to have the color to suit your mood. While you can change the color of its back, you can also match your screen due to its Windows 8 operating system. Although the phone is smaller than the other versions, it provides the same resolution. You can also adjust the settings of the phones sensitivity to work either with your bare hands or with gloves.

Pros

Compared to the other Lumia versions, Nokia Lumia 520 is the cheapest Lumia version with Windows 8 operating system. It has expandable storage so you do not have to worry where to save your pictures or if you want to download more applications to your phone. The battery can be change so you can carry a spare battery in case you run out of battery life. Looking for charging stations while you travel would not be a problem. If you are travelling and you got lost, you do not need to have an internet access to be able to have access to the navigation guide.

 

Cons

There is only 1 primary camera that does not have any flash so taking pictures in dark areas or at night is not advisable. The call quality is not as good as other smartphones.

 

Warranty

Just like other Nokia mobile phones, Nokia Lumia 520 offers 1 year warranty to the unit and its accessories that come when the product was bought. Consumable accessories like batteries, headsets, etc are guaranteed for 6 months while the software has a warranty of 90 days. Warranty starts the day it was purchased.

 

Conclusion

Just like its other Lumia versions, it is durable, the resolution is good and the processor works fast. If you want to experience what it is to have a Windows 8 operating system but is price conscious, then this phone is for you. It delivers as much the same quality as its other Lumia versions.
