Every year Apple hit the market with a new and luxurious iPhone. The iPhone 4S is a pleasant surprise for all clients waiting for the iPhone 5. The unit is an improved version of the iPhone 4 featuring better camera, superb graphics display and faster processor. However, the exterior design has very minimal difference from the older version. This can be a turn off for those who want to show off that they have the latest version of iPhone. But overall, the features are better than its predecessor making it one of the best Android smartphones ever released by the company.

The release of the iPhone 4S was a surprise from the company since many are expecting that Apple will launch the new generation iPhone 5. Instead, the fans got an iPhone 4 overhauled. The changes are easy to note with the camera topping the improvement. The usual 5 MP camera is upgraded to 8MP with improved aperture ratio. The CPU is the same dual core A5 processor seen in iPad2. The exterior is almost the same as the iPhone 4 which can be a deal breaker for those who want to show off that they have the updated version. But upon closer inspection, there is a slight change in the dual band aerial design to make the reception better.

Pros

Apple remains to be true to its company trademark of releasing thin, sleek, solid and luxurious design. The iPhone 4S exhibits all these nice features from the exterior as the body feels solid in the hand. The issues of iPhone 4 on the antenna designed has also been addressed with this unit. The improved antenna results to superior reception. The ultra-high resolution “retina” display and the 8 MP camera are very impressive. They give superb graphics and screen. As expected, the processor is faster than its predecessors. It has better FaceTime video conferencing, battery life, dual noise canceling microphones and useful applications like the HTML capable e-mail client and integrated Google Maps. The built-in support for dual mode GSM/CDMA, GPS, 3G, Wifi and Bluetooth keeps you connected. Lastly, the Siri voice recognition is once again commendable.

 

Cons

The camera although considered to be one of the high-end features still lack an optical zoom. The cost of the unit can be a problem especially with budget conscious individuals. Generally, the smartphone is marketed for the middle to high end buyers. But hopefully, the price will go down once the market has been flooded with Apple’s newer versions.

Ultimately, the iPhone 4S is still a solid choice if you want a well-functioning smartphone. Apple is good in addressing the weaknesses of its previous smartphone versions. Thus, there is very little complaint that you can say about the unit. Given that it is a little expensive, the money you paid for is still worth it.
