HTC One SV

HTC One SV is another Android smartphone released by HTC. It is the company’s way of introducing an affordable 4G experience to its clients. At 4.3 inches, the unit is just the right size. It allows comfortable use as the thumb can reach all corners of the phone. Because of its low price, you should also not expect much from the features. This is a device promoted to smartphone starters who are desperately looking for a bargain phone.

Design

The glass screen is surrounded slim black plastic trims which gives the HTC One SV a similar look with the iPhone 5. The smart and quirky design features a warped matt-white plastic cover on the back and silver finished on the side. The build feels solid and does not give the usual plastic feeling. There are three touch buttons on the screen. The top edge houses the power button, headphone jack and microphone, the bottom edge has the microUSB socket for charging and data transfer and microphone, the right side has the volume rocker and the removable back gives access to the battery, microSIM slot and microSD slot. HTC One SV has the Beats Audio branding to enable bass, treble and the overall volume.

Pros

HTC One SV is 4G enabled with a good media capability. It has an option to expand the memory to up to 40GB. This is great for large music collection, photos and videos. It also has a decent battery life compared with its other siblings from the company. The removable battery allows you to swap in a spare to keep the phone working longer. At 4.3 inches, the phone is not too large. The curved corners and curved back suits nicely and snugly in the hand.

Cons

Unlike other smartphones of HTC, the One SV has lesser specs. It only uses the Android 4.0 which limits the games that you can enjoy. There is huge slot cut into the screen where the earpiece sits accumulates a lot of dirt. It does not have a voice dialing over Bluetooth and mediocre call quality. The poor resolution may be the reason why the price is way below the expected amount for an Android phone. The dual core chip gives the phone a few noticeable pauses or moments of lag.

Conclusion

The HTC One SV might not be the most exciting Android phone launched in the market. The screen has a resolution of only 480 x 800 pixels which is way below the level of modern high-end smartphones. However, it has its own specs that make it an alternative unit for those who want to go for affordability. The 4G offering is currently among the cheapest ways to get the feature. Although this is not a high-end phone, this is a relatively a good way to start with an Android smartphone.
