HTC Droid DNA
HTC Droid DNA has been making noise lately. Many reviews have been released and if you want to know more about the unit, this article will guide you whether this is a good choice for a smartphone.
Next to the HTC One X+, the phone is the second to have the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean exclusive to Verizon. The smartphone is big, powerful and loaded with features but low in price. It possesses HTC’s trademark characteristics of brilliant display and great camera. It targets buyers who want crisp display and large screen at a reasonable price.
Design
HTC Droid DNA is a big phone measuring 5.6 inches by 2.7 inches wide and 0.38 inches thick. The screen is built with Corning Gorilla Glass. The display is round and curve at the edge to form a smooth featured device. It gives a premium feel to anyone who is turned off by plastic-feeling phones. The matte black finish and red, aerated racing stripes give it somewhat a sci-fi look. Three capacitive buttons can be seen at the bottom of the screen. At the top, you will find the standard headphone jack, a sleep/wake button and a micro SIM card slot. On the right side is the shiny red volume button while on the left is a just metallic red line. The rubbery rear grip gives a solid hold of the phone to make you worry-free about accidental falling.

Pros
Despite its large screen, the unit is very thin and light. The screen resolution is the highlight of the HTC Droid DNA. It is beautifully made with a “wow” effect. Text is ultra-clear and the 5 inch display gives crisp images even in broad light. The cameras, both the front and rear give HD pictures. HTC Droid DNA sounds great with headphones. It also runs the Jelly Bean very well. At a very affordable price, the average buyer will be happy to get the phone.
Cons
The battery life lasts for only 4 hours if you are a heavy gamer. This is a bad revelation for the on-the-go gamers. If you are a heavy phone user, you should make provisions to have charging in place wherever you are. The storage capacity is also limited. Most of the internal memory is used up by the phone’s operating system leaving you with only about 11 GB left. This is not sufficient if you plan to have loads of pictures, files, games and videos. The auto focus feature of the camera has its own issues since it does not focus well. It also has indistinct power button and volume control. HTC Droid DNA may be thin but it is uncomfortable for one-hand use.
Conclusion
HTC Droid DNA has brilliant display but fast processor but it also shares some of the weaknesses of the company. It has short battery option, limited storage capacity. But with the other reviews, the performance will still be up to how you use the phone. Unless you are a heavy gamer and you deal with a lot of storage, the smartphone is a good option. The size of the handset is again judged as to personal preference. Just think about the great hardware, knock-out screen and nice price, the HTC Droid DNA is a solid choice under the Verizon.
