HP Spectre XT Touchsmart Review
HP Spectre XT Touchsmart is a combination of power and touch enabled screen. It is one of the flagships of the company as it retains HP’s classic name for style. The slim metal body comes along with the colorful tiles of Windows 8. Both give the initial wow factor for the ultrabook. As a mid-range gadget, you will expect that it is a bit pricey compared with other competitors. However, the cost can be explained in the different features that you get. The incredible touch enabled screen, nice audio sound and stylish solid build give the worth to your money.
Design
The HP Spectre XT Touchsmart is undeniably an HP machine. The brushed metal body handles the bumps and knocks of everyday use. The aluminum back lid is highly flexible. The slim device is perfect to suit your on-the-go computer needs. It fits comfortably inside a back pack and the 2.1 kg weight is not too heavy on your back. Around the edge, you will find plastic bezel and a solid collection of ports like the USB - two USB 3.0, one for USB 2.0, HDMI, full-size SD card slot, Thunderbolt-enabled MiniDisplay port and Ethernet port. The keyboard is similar with the other HP laptops. The HP has the enhanced Beats Audio for better quality sound. The battery can last for about 10 hours under casual strain.

Pros
The sturdy metal design is an attraction for most buyers. It has a full high definition display that give texts better appearance. It is a good choice for movie lovers as it gives a good mixture of colors. Images are displayed well making it an ideal mobile media machine. It also has a good audio design to give you solid sound quality. The responsive touch enabled screen allows you to maximize your Windows 8 experience. The large icons offer greater enjoyment.
Cons
The main downside of the HP Spectre XT Touchsmart is the high price. It is one of the most expensive laptops considering the features that you get. The 15.6 inch-display is reasonably bright but it is very much susceptible to reflections. This is also heavy and enormous for an ultrabook. At 2.2 kg, this is found on the heavier scale of laptops in the market. The performance is limited to only light to medium work.
Conclusion
The HP SPectre ST Touchsmart is undoubtedly more expensive than its other rivals in the market. But if you take a look at the performance and design, you will say that there is a good justification for its hefty price. The processor is decent and it can handle your day-today computing needs. It is useful for HD video playbacks, web browsing and light photo and video editing. The responsive touch screen also allows you to enjoy the features of Windows 8 better. It may not be a very powerful machine but definitely, it can handle your basic requirement. Unless you are a serious power user, this unit can be a good choice.
