Europe’s Scrumptious Chocolate Places

Chocolate was brought to Europe by Christopher Columbus by brining cocoa beans and showed it to Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain. However, it was the Spanish friars who introduced the chocolate to the people.

Importing chocolate was difficult at that time until Spain conquered the Aztecs. It was then a favorite hit in the place. Based on the history books, the first chocolate shipment in Europe happened in 1585 from Veracruz, Mexico to Sevilla which was for commercial purposes.

As it became popular, London’s first chocolate house launched in 1657 where it is a famous hot drinks known to cure tuberculosis. It was mixed with coffee, wine and pepper. In the 1700s, milk and sugar was then added to give it more flavor. It was not until Fry and Sons that was created into solid form.
